Fifteen clarinetists, performing on soprano, sopranino, alto, bass and contrabass instruments, presents compositions by Toshinari Iijima, Theresa Martin, Daniel Rodier, Andy Scott and Masato Tajino and arrangements of old favorites by Christin Hablewitz and Matt Johnston.

Brightwork newmusic: Lost and Found, again…
L.A.’s premiere sextet explores what it means to be lost over and over again, only to be found, albeit for a fleeting moment. This program presents works by Sean Friar, Takuma Itoh, A.J. McCaffrey, world premiere of new works by Bill Alves, Jonathon Grasse, and world premiere of new arrangements by Molly Joyce and Liviu Marinescu.

Nadia Shpachenko, Piano and Guests
Shpachenko performs selections from her new CD “The Poetry of Places” and contemporary trio works with Megan Ihnen, mezzo-soprano and Michael Hall, viola. Unique architecture and places inspired the compositions by Victoria Bond, Libby Larsen, Hannah Lash, James Matheson, Harold Meltzer, Lewis Spratlan, Nina C. Young, and Jack Van Zandt.

Jouyssance Early Music Ensemble: A German Renaissance Roadshow
In their first Claremont performance, the LA-based early music vocal ensemble is joined by instrumental ensemble Commercium Musicum on a musical journey from the Renaissance to the early Baroque, featuring works by composers such as Schein, Hieronymus and Michael Praetorius, Scheidt and Hassler. This program celebrates March as Early Music Month.

The renowned quartet performs American folk music from Sea Island spirituals to Creole calypsos and stomp-down Appalachian dance tunes.

HMC’s ensemble of metallophones and gongs ring out as part of L.A.’s festival of microtonal music. Special guests Shalini Vijayan, violin, and Alison Bjorkedal, harp, join the HMC American Gamelan in performances of works by Lou Harrison and Bill Alves.
