Established in 2001, the HMC Jazz Improvisation course provides a supportive forum in which beginning Claremont colleges students can learn to improvise and in which continuing players can improve their improvisation skills.

This semester we are pleased to offer Tunes Bill Evans Played, a selection of tunes played, and in some cases composed, by the renowned pianist (although not necessarily his interpretations). Students will improvise on a repertoire of standards in various combos of three to six performers.
