The evening concert features Dave Thompson on piano, Tim Miller on bass, and Alan Winkel on drums, playing a mix of originals and standards Bill Evans played during his career.

Works by Christopher Dobrian, Tom Flaherty, Kaija Saariaho, and premieres of new works by Bill Alves and Zeena Parkins.

The students of the HMC Jazz Improvisation course improvise on a selection of tunes played, and in some cases composed, by the renowned pianist (although not necessarily his interpretations).

The Corax Quartet performs sparkling chamber music featuring Johannes Brahms’ dramatic third quartet for piano and strings and William Walton’s exhilarating piano quartet.

Senior Recital: Doren Lan and Daniel Zhang
Works by Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Schubert, and Chopin are performed on piano.

The Claremont Concert Choir & Claremont Treble Singers
Soul-cleansing choral music from the 16th century to the present, including works by Monteverdi, Byrd, and Vaughan Williams, with a new work by Bill Alves with text by Gertrude Stein.

MicroFest: Metallophones & Cell Phones
Compositions by Bill Alves, David Doty, Lou Harrison, and Greg Schiemer are performed by the sparkling metallophones and gongs of the HMC American Gamelan, returned piano, and yes, cell phones.
